ABSTRACT
The study was conducted in Hisar during 2015-16 with the objective to study the cost of production of guar and constraints in production. Three villages were selected with 25 farmers per village with a total of 75 farmers for the study. The total cost of production of guar was estimated Rs. 44246.42/ha. The total yield was 9.85 q/ha. The gross returns were Rs. 36825.20 and net returns were negative with loss of Rs. 7421.22/ha. The variable cost was Rs. 20551.74/ha. The net returns over variable costs were Rs. 16273.46/ha. The improved package of practices of guar production like use of certified seed was done by 21.33% of farmers, seed treatment was followed by 25.33% of farmers, line method of sowing was adopted by 56.00% of farmers, weed management practices were adopted by 69.33% of farmers, proper disease management was done by 53.33% of farmers and insect management was done by 45.33% of farmers in Hisar.
