ABSTRACT
The present study was conducted at CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Haryana (India) during rabi 2013-14. Field trials were conducted in randomized block design with three replications of nine treatments including untreated plot. Efficacy of different treatments viz., spinosad 45 SC @ 160 ml/ha, indoxacarb 14.5 SC @ 400 ml/ha, thiodicarb 75 WP @ 200 g/ha, novaluron 10 EC @ 375 ml/ha, deltamethrin 2.8 EC @ 537 ml/ha, quinalphos 25 EC @ 1500 ml/ha, coragen 18.5 SC @ 97 ml/ha and NSKE 5% was tested against Helicoverpa armigera larvae. The results revealed that coragen 18.5 SC was best among all the treatments with minimum larval population of 0.67 and 5.22 l/mrl in first and second sprays, respectively. The next best to coragen 18.5 SC was novaluron 10 EC with larval population of 1.14 and 5.44 l/mrl in both the sprays, respectively. Least effective treatment was NSKE 5% with 1.39 and 9.00 l/mrl and it was statistically on par with quinalphos 25 EC with 1.33 and 7.79 l/mrl in first and second sprays, respectively. Minimum pod damage was recorded in coragen 18.5 SC (13.20%), while maximum was in quinalphos 25 EC (33.34%) against untreated plot (56.76%). Maximum and minimum yield was recorded in coragen 18.5 SC (1450.83 kg/ha) and quinalphos 25 EC (775.83 kg/ha) against untreated plot (510.28 kg/ha).
