ABSTRACT
Pearl millet is the major crop of north western Rajasthan and is grown abundantly in the Nagore district. Harvesting of pearl millet crop is a very tedious, monotonous and back breaking activity which is performed
mainly by farm women through small, traditional and iron made sickle due to which harvesting became the activity of full drudgery and energy intensive. Therefore, an OFT was conducted to test and show the
effectiveness of serrated sickle in reducing drudgery and improving harvesting capacity over the traditional non-serrated sickle used by the farm women.
Key words : Drudgery reduction, farm women, improved serrated sickle
