Performance of Sweet Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) Genotypes under Temperate Conditions of Kashmir Valley

ABSTRACT

The present investigation was conducted during kharif 2010 at three locations viz., Vegetable Experimental Farm, SKUASTK, Shalimar; KVK, Malangpora and RRS & FOA, Wadura. The basic materials consisted of 10 genotypes of sweet pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) viz., SP-4, SP-21, SP-29, SP-31, SP-32, SP-82, SP-202, SP-614, SP-640 and California Wonder (Check). Wide range of variability was observed for most of the traits under study. Mean and range depicted wide range of variability among parents and F1’s for most of the traits under study revealing that there was ample scope for selecting the desirable types for further improvement of the crop.
