ABSTRACT

The present experiment was conducted during summer season of 2018 on muskmelon cultivar Punjab Sunehari. During fruit development stage, seven foliar K treatments were applied three times at 10 days intervals : (1) Control (water only), (2) KCl–1%, (3) KCl–2%, (4) K2SO4–1%, (5) K2SO4–2%, (6) KNO3–1% and (7) KNO3–2%. The findings demonstrated that supplementing foliar spray of potassium fertilizers throughout fruit developing and maturity stage enhanced quality characters of fruit, as well as biochemical constituents. Foliar spray of all potassium sources was tested and found helpful in enhancing quality of fruit and K2SO4–2% was found significantly better for obtaining good quality fruits with higher production.
