Special Issue Information
This Special Issue aims to explore emerging and interconnected innovations in tropical agro-biological systems, with a particular focus on sustainability, resilience, and technological advancement. Tropical regions face unique challenges related to climate variability, biodiversity conservation, food security, and agricultural productivity. Addressing these challenges requires an integrative approach that combines biotechnology, environmental science, and engineering solutions.
The issue welcomes contributions examining plant biotechnology, bio-based inputs, and microbial applications, as well as studies of climate-resilient agricultural systems, including adaptation strategies to environmental stressors. In addition, we encourage research on green technologies, environmental monitoring, and digital tools, including sensors, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data-driven approaches, that support sustainable agricultural practices.
Food safety, food systems innovation, and the role of traditional knowledge, including ethnobotany and community-based practices, are also key areas of interest. The integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning into agricultural systems is particularly encouraged, especially for predictive modeling, resource optimization, and environmental monitoring. By bringing together diverse yet interconnected perspectives, this Special Issue aims to provide a comprehensive platform for advancing scientific understanding and practical solutions for sustainable agriculture in tropical ecosystems.
