ABSTRACT
Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) has numerous uses and is grown commonly throughout the nation. The study was conducted to evaluate the benefit : cost ratio and to analyze the major constraints faced by the farmers during cucumber cultivation in polyhouses. The sample for the study constituted 165 farmers in total from three districts (Sonipat, Rohtak and Bhiwani). The outcomes of the present study unveiled that 1.41 was the benefit : cost ratio for cucumber cultivation by farmers under polyhouse condition. Higher initial investment (86.17%), lack of skilled labour (81.95%) and less durability of cladding material (78.23%) were the major production related problems faced by the respondent farmers.
