Substantiation of the Need of Fat Tailed Pregnant Ewes in Cobalt

ABSTRACT

Based on a detailed study of cobalt contents in the organs and tissues of pregnant ewes and their fetuses, the degree of utilization of this element from rations and accounting for endogenous losses, the standard need of the Kalmyk pregnant ewes in cobalt has been determined, which during early pregnancy amounts to 0.90 mg per head a day, in the middle of pregnancy to 1.05 mg, and during late pregnancy to 1.20 mg per head a day.
