ABSTRACT

Pregabalin is a synthetic lipophilic structural derivate of the inhibitory neurotransmitter ³-aminobutyric acid. In this study, 42 female rats were divided into two main groups : one was treated by Galica and the second by Lyrica pregabalin drug for two months under different doses (50, 75 and 150 mg/kg). The results of the histological study showed that there were severe changes on the vital organs liver (liver fibrosis, vaculation, nucleus fragmentation and apoptosis), kidney (glomerulus damage, necrotic damage tube, increased space of glomerulus) and heart (damage with increased number of nucleus and damage to the microfibers). Pregabalin (Lyrica) was more safe than Galica for all studied vital organs.
