ABSTRACT
Pansy (Viola x wittrockiana Gams.), a herbaceous annual ornamental plant, is associated with the problem of poor seed germination and field establishment. Experiment was carried out at Dr. Y. S. Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry, Nauni, Solan (H. P.), India under open field conditions in split plot design comprising five seed priming treatments (PEG6000 @ 300 g/l, GA3 @ 20 mg/l, biopriming with Trichoderma viride @ 8 g/kg of seed, hydropriming with water and control) and four planting dates (17th October, 2nd November, 17th November and 2nd December). Among all the seed priming treatments, seed priming with GA3 @ 20 mg/l was found to be the best when planting was done 2nd November for improving the emergence, growth, flowering and seed production of pansy.
