ABSTRACT

Fruit drop control has been a major challenge in citrus orchards. Consequently, a trial was carried out to
test the efficacy of various chemicals on managing fruit drop and quality improvement in Kinnow mandarin.
Results revealed that auxin when applied along with micro-nutrient and fungicide as foliar spray in Kinnow
mandarin for managing fruit drop and quality; lowest fruit drop, maximum fruit size, maximum number of
fruits per plant, maximum fruit yield, highest TSS and total sugars were recorded with the combined foliar
spray of 2, 4-D (10 ppm)+propiconazole (1%)+ZnSO4 1%. Fruit weight, juice content and ascorbic acid
content were highest when ZnSO4 was replaced with KNO3 (1%).
