ABSTRACT
An experiment was conducted at research farm of Lovely Professional University at Phagwara during rabi season of 2017-18 on two varieties HD 2967 and HD 3086 of wheat (Triticum aestivum). The experiment was laid out in randomized block design (RBD) with 10 treatments and three replications viz., control (T0), 100% Recommended NPK (T1), 50% Recommended NPK+FYM @ 5 t/ha (T2), 75% Recommended NPK+Azotobacter (T3), 75% Recommended NPK+Phosphate solubilizing bacteria (T4), 75% NPK+Sulphur @ 40 kg/ha Gypsum (T5), 100% Recommended NPK (T6), 50% Recommended NPK+FYM @ 5 t/ha (T7), 75% Recommended NPK+Azotobacter (T8), 75% Recommended NPK+Phosphate solubilizing bacteria (T9) and 75% NPK+Sulphur @ 40 kg/ha Gypsum (T10). The results of experiment showed higher grain yield obtained through yield contributing characters like plant height, leaf area index, number of tillers, number of spikelets, number of grains/spike, test weight, grain yield (t/ha) and straw yield. Highest grain yield was recorded for treatment (T6) applied with 75% of NPK+Sulphur @ 40 kg/ha for variety HD 2967.
