Ethnomedicinal Evaluation of Medicinal Flora Used for Treatment of Gastrointestinal Disorders of Bir Bara Ban (A Conservation Reserve) in Jind District of Haryana

ABSTRACT

Ethno botany studies direct relationship between local people and plants. Gastro intestinal tract, one of the main systems of human body, suffers from many diseases which can adversely affect the system. The present study was carried out to highlight the medicinal flora of Bir Bara Ban (A conservation Reserve) in Jind district of Haryana used for treatment of digestion related disorders. This paper highlighted the medicinal importance of 37 plants which were used by local people in treatment of diseases like indigestion, stomachache, bowel disorders, etc. Information was collected by interviewing local people especially local traditional healers. This documentation of medicinal plants will help in sustainable utilization of resources of study site.
