ABSTRACT

Fluoride has beneficial as well as detrimental effect on living-beings depending on its concentration and duration of consumption period. Defluoridation is an effective method for mitigating pollution of fluoride. Large-scale researches had been completed on the various techniques for the removal of fluoride. In the present study, the Purolite resin was thoroughly examined to evaluate its adsorptive removal ability of fluoride. It was conceived that the removal of fluoride was best at the neutral pH (7) and was precocious with the increase in adsorbent dose and contact time. This made the resin more auspicious adsorbent for the fluoride removal. In addition, this process has been technically advantageous in comparison with the other alternatives.
