ABSTRACT

A field trial was carried out to evaluate the impact of potassium and copper on the qualitative and quantitative attributes in potato during rabi season of 2018-19. The experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) using three replications with combinations of different concentrations of potassium and copper (75, 100 and 125%). The various parameters studied included growth (plant height, leaf area index, fresh/dry weight of plants), yield (average number of tubers, average weight of tuber and potato tuber yield) and quality parameters (specific gravity, starch and vitamin C). Combinations of potassium and copper application significantly affected all parameters except per cent emergence, number of haulms per plant and specific gravity. On the basis of current findings, the maximum increase in the growth, yield and quality parameters was found in treatment
combination (125% K2O + 125% Cu).
